Ret. Col. and Mrs. Richard Marchant of Springfield, Va., have announced the engagement of their daughter Brittany to Jay Zimmer, son of John and Anne Suter Zimmer of Cutchogue and Oakton, Va.

Brittany graduated from Virginia Tech in 2008 and teaches at the Nysmith School for the Gifted while pursuing a master’s degree at George Mason University.

Jay, a 2007 Virginia Tech graduate, is an aerospace engineer with CSSI in Washington, D.C., and is continuing his education at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

A July 2012 wedding is planned.

Diane Valentine and Matthew Ritter

Diane Valentine and Matthew Ritter were married Sept. 18 at Founders Landing in Southold. The bride was attended by her daughter, Cherise Hutchings of Connecticut, and Mr. Ritter’s brother, John Ritter of Eureka, Calif., served as best man.

The bride, originally from Fairfield County, Conn., is a self-employed writer and artist and a former editorial assistant with The Shelter Island Reporter.

The groom, a lifelong Greenport resident, is the son of Donald Ritter of Greenport and Arlene Ritter of Salem, Va. He is a local contractor, and attends Suffolk County Community College, where he is majoring in secondary education.

The couple resides in Greenport.

Joseph, the son of Rosemary Brown of Greenport, is an electrician and co-owner of Dark Fader Sound Productions.

Tammie is employed by the Internal Revenue Service.

Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Smith of Cutchogue have announced the engagement of their son, Timothy, to Angie Cutshaw, daughter of Mark Cutshaw and Judy McCormick of Panama City, Fla.

Angie is a 2001 graduate of Bay High School in Panama City and graduated in 2009 from Gulf Coast State College. She is a sonographer at Gulf Coast Medical Center.

Timothy graduated from Mattituck High School in 1999 and the Gulf Coast State College Fire Academy in 2006. He is a firefighter and EMT with the Panama City Beach Fire/Rescue.
The couple lives in Panama City Beach, Fla. An April 2012 wedding is planned

Robyn, daughter of Sherry and Stephen Albertson of Southold, was attended by her sister, Stacey; the groom’s sister, Ashley; her cousins Kathryn and Jenna Park; and Mainey and Tayte DePetris.

Benjamin is the son of Lorrinda and Donald Staron of Peconic. John Helf served as his best man; Jesse VanDuzer, Kevin Terry, Kenneth Heidtmann and Braden and William DePetris were groomsmen.

Following a honeymoon in Key West, Fla., the couple resides in Guilford, Conn.

The bride is from Dix Hills, the groom from Cutchogue.

Tara Gately was matron of honor. Attendants included Tracy Gramesty, Michelle Hawes, Amanda Gabrielsen and Tracey Acquarulo. Ava Gabrielsen was the flower girl.

Michael Blados was best man. Groomsmen included Brian McCleery, Britt Colombo, Robert Gabrielsen and Kelly Bennett. Robert Gabrielsen Jr. was the ring bearer.

Following a honeymoon in Anguilla and St. Maarten, the couple resides in Manhattan.

Jessica is the daughter of Jerry and Lee Camilleri of Greenport.

Kyle is the son of Scott and Becky Koenig of Dallas, Texas.

Lauren Widmer served as matron of honor and Serena Camilleri as junior maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Sotha Camilleri, Jennifer Clark and Shannon Desmond. Arabella Camilleri was flower girl.

Blaine Brewer was best man. Groomsmen were Abu Abukar, Andrew Allard, Jonah Kraus and James Marsden. Bob and Tom Camilleri served as ushers and Kai and Tino Camilleri were ringbearers.

Following a honeymoon in the Cayman Islands, the couple resides in Valley Stream. They both work at Colicchio & Sons in Manhattan, where Jessica is a sommelier and Kyle is sous chef.

Tommy graduated from Humboldt State University in California in 2008 and works as a graphic designer in American Canyon, Calif.

Dr. Schondebare is a 1997 graduate of Southold High School and completed her undergraduate education at Cornell University. She went on to receive her Doctor of Medicine degree from University of Connecticut School of Medicine and a Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School of Business at University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Schondebare will complete her internal medicine residency this month at the University of Washington.

She will work as a physician at Seattle’s community hospitals and as a business consultant for Program for Appropriate Technology in Health (PATH), a nonprofi t global health organization. Mr. Monteiro was born and raised in Porto Alegre, Brazil, where he studied language and computer science. He is a senior software engineer at Microsoft. The couple resides in Seattle, Wash.

A 2015 wedding is planned.
