Jesse Halpin and Anastasia Hassel

Anastasia Hassell, formerly of Southold, and Jesse Halpin of Coram were married May 14 in Medford. The carnival-themed wedding was held at Country Fair and was officiated by the Rev. Dawn Shedrick. The groom’s son, Logan, served as ring bearer.

Anastasia is the daughter of Carol and Jason Leonard of Southold and Robert Hassell of Queen Creek, Ariz. Jesse is the son of Bob Halpin of Holbrook and the late Donna Halpin.

Anastasia graduated from Bishop McGann-Mercy High School in Riverhead and attended Stony Brook University. She works in Farmingdale and is currently an MBA student at St. Joseph’s College in Patchogue. Jesse, a graduate of Brentwood High School, is an apprentice with Millwright and Machine Erectors Local Union 740.

After a honeymoon in Jamaica, the couple is at home in Coram.

Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Barry of Mattituck have announced the engagement of their daughter Catherine to Andrew Killeen, son of Margaret and Michael Killeen of Bay Shore.

Catherine and Andrew are both graduates of the University of Dayton in Ohio. She is employed as a special education teacher at The School for Global Leaders in Manhattan. He is a high school band director at The Brooklyn Studio Secondary School.

A July 2017 wedding in planned.

Suzanne and Stephen Conlin of Cutchogue have announced the engagement of their daughter Sarah to Jeffery Wilson Wong, son of Claudia Mott and Wilson Wong of Millington, N.J. 

Ms. Conlin, a graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute, holds a Bachelor of Science in humanities with an emphasis in American studies. She also earned a commission as U.S. Navy ensign while attending the College of the Holy Cross NROTC, and served at Naval Air Station Pensacola. She works as coordinator of administration and communications at the Concord Museum in Concord Mass.

Mr. Wong, also a graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute, holds a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering with an emphasis in mechanical design. He is a project manager at an engineering company in Newington, N.H.

An April 2017 wedding is planned.

Michael and Carol Malkush of Cutchogue have announced the marriage of their daughter Melissa to Don Peters, son of Ron and Pat Peters of Newtown, Ohio. The ceremony took place at New Suffolk Beach Sept. 10. The reception was held in the Malkushes’ backyard in Cutchogue.

Melissa is a graduate of Wake Forest University. She works for Norell Prosthetics. Don is a graduate of Ohio State University. He works for Trevet Civil and Environmental Engineering.

After honeymooning in Belize, they returned to their home in San Diego, Calif.

Brenda and Warren Jensen of Greenport and Kim and Craig Jobes of Greenport are proud to announce the marriage of their children, Stephanie and Craig.

A wedding and reception were held Oct. 8 at Founders Landing in Southold.

The bride’s sister, Rebecca Jensen, served as maid of honor. Stephanie’s daughter, Bria Jensen, was flower girl. Zach Auer served as best man.

Stephanie is a certified nurse’s assistant at Peconic Landing in Greenport. Craig works as a port inspector for commercial fishing vessels for a contractor to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Veterans Day Wedding Giveback winners celebrate big day: Video

The winners of the sixth annual Veterans Day Wedding Giveback tied the knot Nov. 12 at Brecknock Hall in Greenport. Patrick Rogers of Manorville, 34, married Jessica Peters, 30, of Sayville.

Mr. Rogers currently serves in the United States Coast Guard aboard the Cutter KEY LARGO out of Gloucester, Mass.

“Thank you, thank you, thank you to all the vendors that gave their time and services for this great cause,” Mr. Rogers said in a statement. “The flowers, photography, music, and food – just to name a few – were absolutely incredible.”

Ms. Peters works as a producer for Telecare TV.

“We hope that the entire Veterans Day Wedding Giveback reminds us all of the selfless love in this world — shown through the participating vendors, and our military that keep our communities safe,” she said.

The couple, who were engaged in March, learned they had won this year’s contest in May through Peconic Landing and Brecknock Hall. Read more about them here.

The couple got engaged Oct. 26 while in New Orleans. Angela is a registered nurse who works in the emergency room at Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport. Timothy, formerly of Southold, is a golf course superintendent at Gardiners Bay Country Club on Shelter Island.

Kelly graduated from Mattituck High School. The couple met at and graduated from SUNY/Geneseo. Kelly holds a Master of Business Administration degree and is employed at Leviton Manufacturing in Melville. Timothy, a CPA, is employed at Apollo Global Management in Manhattan.

The couple will marry Sept. 9, 2017, at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church in Mattituck.

Bridget Quinn Wallace, formerly of Cutchogue, and Alexander Belich, formerly of Hawthorne, N.J., were married Aug. 5, 2016, at Our Lady of Ostrabrama in Cutchogue. Monsignor Joseph Staudt officiated. A reception followed at Bedell Cellars in Cutchogue.

Bridget is the daughter of Eileen Quinn. She was escorted by her brother, John Quinn Wallace.

Bridget received a Bachelor of Arts in child study from St. Joseph’s College in Patchogue and a Master of Science in library and information science from Queens College. She is a kindergarten teacher at Grace Christian Academy.

Alexander is the son of Mirosinka Stojanovic. He received a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in finance and accounting from Seton Hall University in South Orange, N.J. He is currently a tax manager for PricewaterhouseCoopers.

The couple currently resides in Georgetown, Cayman Islands.

Alison Anne Leonard and Lt. j.g. Tyler Ross Mehrman were married Aug. 12, 2016, in a Catholic ceremony at the OLP Chapel at Aldrich Mansion in Warwick, R.I. The wedding was officiated by Father Stephen S. Donohoe and followed by a reception at Aldrich Mansion.

The bride is the daughter of Steven Leonard of Kingston, Mass., and Paula Manzo of Woburn, Mass. The groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. John Mehrman of Peconic.

Alison earned a bachelor’s degree in English and psychology from Merrimack College, as well as a master’s degree in public relations from Boston University. Tyler, a Southold High School graduate, earned his Bachelor of Science in aerospace engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

The couple honeymooned in Italy, touring Lake Como, Venice and the Tuscan region. They currently live in San Diego, Calif., where Tyler is completing training as a naval aviator.

Sean graduated from Southold High School. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Pittsburgh and is a captain in the U.S. Marine Corps, stationed at Camp Pendleton, Calif.

The couple will marry Oct. 21, 2017, at Our Lady of Ostrabrama R.C. Church in Cutchogue.

Sarah is the daughter of Suzanne and Stephen Conlin of Cutchogue. Her matron of honor was Kiley Stewart of San Diego. Bridesmaids were her sisters-in-law Kelsea Conlin of San Diego and Emily Wong of Millington, N.J., and sorority sisters Britney Atwater of Worcester, Mass., and Brianna Goncalves of Rye, N.H.

Jeffery is the son of Claudia Mott of Millington, N.J. and Wilson Wong of Bound Brook, N.J. Brother of the groom Andrew Wong of Orlando, Fla., served as best man. Longtime friend Jonny Giordano of Millington, N.J., brother-in-law Steve Conlin of San Diego and fraternity brothers Steve Oliveira of Lakeville, Mass., and Nick Tosi of New Haven, Conn., were groomsmen.

Following a honeymoon in the Bahamas, the couple resides in Newmarket, N.H.

Fred and Martha Carter of Mattituck have announced the engagement of their son Fred to Chelsea Michalek, daughter of Gary and Becky Michalek of Winnetka, Ill.

Fred and Chelsea both graduated from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa., where they met. Fred graduated from Lehigh’s College of Arts and Sciences and later received master’s degrees in technical entrepreneurship and mechanical engineering, also from Lehigh. Chelsea received a bachelor’s degree from Lehigh’s College of Business and Economics.

Fred and Chelsea reside in Chicago, where Fred is employed by Sciaky Inc. as a research and development process engineer. Chelsea is employed at Ernst & Young as an event and meeting planner.

An August 2018 wedding is planned in Chicago.
